The status of an announced V8 luxury sedan with rear drive and a $40,000 base sticker is unclear at the moment. Hyundai had mentioned an introduction around 2007, but may have delayed it because of America's gas-price shock and company legal troubles in South Korea. If this bigger flagship does get the green light, it would be based on the latest version of Hyundai's home-market Equus, prototypes of which were recently spied testing in Europe.
